Anya Astapova was born in Moscow within a family of graphic designers and printers. Her career started with an apprenticeship
at the Soviet Banknote Printing Factory GOZNAK, where she designed post stamps, postcards and posters.
After graduating from Arts & Graphics Department of MGPU University, she continued her education at Rietveld Academie
in Amsterdam and Kreft Opleidingen in Haarlem.
Returning to Moscow, Anya worked for “Business Class” Publishing House in various glossy and business magazines.
In 1995 she followed her career in Amsterdam at Van Santen Design and Media Partners for the clients such
as KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Albert Heijn supermarkets, PTT Post (KPN), PGGM Pension fund, Postcodelotterij and Kuwait Oil.
After a four-year stay on the island of Sakhalin in the Russian Far East, Anya Astapova settled down in Paris where she works
as a self-employed graphic designer.
